We will be using a clip chart this year as an individual behavior system.
Each student will receive a clothes pin. Each day they will start on Green. As I catch them following the classroom rules and showing kindness to others, I will tell them to "clip up". They will go over to the chart and move his/her clothes pin up a color. If they are not following the rules or being mean, they will clip down.
I will post the classroom rules HERE when the class decides what they should be.
At the end of the day, I will give out the tickets students earned.
Pink - earn 3 tickets
Purple - earn 2 tickets
Blue - earn 1 ticket
Green - earn 1 ticket
Yellow - 5 minutes taken from recess (then they may return to Green)
Orange - 15 minutes of silent lunch and 5 minutes taken from recess (then they may return to Green)
Red - You will be contacted. Whole Lunch Silent and a note of apology written during recess. (then they may return to Green)
If a child falls below Red, I will immediately call you during the day for your child to explain his/her behavior.
If a child earns above Pink, I will immediately call you during the day for your child to celebrate with you!
3 tickets for a small reward (smarty, starburst, Hershey kiss, eraser, pencil)
15 tickets = homework pass (one night/one subject)
50 tickets = one rotation of free computer time (school appropriate)
and in order to encourage teamwork, students may choose to add his/her tickets to the classroom reward bucket...
100 tickets = 5 extra minutes of recess
1000 tickets = class celebration from 2:30-3:30 (ice cream or games etc)
